- To race, place Lightning McQueen and Chick Hicks in the starting position, press the fair start mechanism and send them racing to the fire house.
- In rescue mode, Pitty crewmembers divert Lightning McQueen, sending him racing through fires or plowing through rocks while Chick Hicks watches from his perch on Willy's Butte.
- When Lightning McQueen arrives at the fire house, kids push the Stanley statue to launch him at Chick Hicks, knocking the troublemaker into a cactus. Lightning McQueen saves the day.
